I eat cranberries and garlic. I have heard that you can make a garlic tampon and insert it - but have never tried it. I do use the following cure. Source:Yeast Infection Home Remedies
teatree oil is available in the US at many natural foods stores. a terrifically helpful woman wrote to tell me that in italy, teatree oil is widely used for yeast infections. she said that her pharmacist told her to coat the top half of a non-applicator type tampon with a lubricant (such as K.Y. jelly or even olive oil), then apply a few drops of pure tea tree oil and insert. the lubricant keeps the teatree oil from absorbing into the tampon. she also said that she finds that the teatree oil can sting if it comes in contact with the vulva, so she uses an applicator tampon, by just lifting off the top part of the applicator to expose the tampon, applying the K.Y. jelly and tea tree oil, and putting the tampon back into the applicator. what a great idea!

Are You Ever Too Old To Learn?
I had a piano teacher when I was young. She was at least 70 years old when she bought an organ. As a child I was amazed that she would waste her time, being old, learning to play another instrument. I now understand why she gave me a weird look. But, she also gave me some good advice.
"You are never old until you stop learning." I have held on that piece of wisdom all my life. I never stopped learning, which is why I have experienced the success I have.
I plan to enroll in a university and earn an online degree. My son is also interested in learning online. First, it is much cheaper than traditional learning, second, it lets you focus on learning instead of running to classes.
In some countries, a retired person can attend university free - Canada is one country. Learning is the best way to keep the mind active. Graduation does not need to be the only goal. Keeping the mind's cognitive abilities sharp would be my first goal, the degree would be my second.
I am a passionate advocate of continued education. I thank columbiasounthern for choosing to sponsor this post.
Writing for Fun
Writing can be a fun way to make some extra money. When I was just a hobby writer, I wrote reviews for furniture sites. I love writing reviews. One thing, it introduced me to the wonderful world of online shopping.
I wrote some amazing reviews for bedrooms. You can buy a $10 000 bedroom set for under $4000. The bedroom sets are the same quality, and even made by the same manufacturer. The only difference is the manufacturer ships the bedroom set to you instead of to a store.
We are going to wait until we can buy a sofa set, bedrooms, and our bed bunk kid style for my daughter. Then we will get a shipping discount.
THe fun part about writing reviews is that you get to shop online, so you have something to review. I thank companies such as furniturefromhome.com making it 'fun' to write reviews.
Never Too Old For Sports
When do we ever tire of sports? The answer is 'never.' I love the new sports websites. Participating in communities like this can connect us with the hobbies we have always enjoyed. Why do people think they need to avoid their favorite haunts, just because they are older.
One benefits of online sites is that you get freebies. You can watch online rugby games from the web, no cable needed. Keep on top of the entire industry.
So, before you sit down to watch another television rerun, take a look at the 'real' entertainment offered on the web.

Common Mistakes When Planning & Financing Your Medical Spa
Everything starts with a business plan: If you dont have one. Write it. A good business plan will help you get a handle on all of the things that get glossed over in the excitement of starting a new business. Its also a usual requirement for getting financing.
Remember that this is a medical business and comes with special requirements. Non-physicians can not employ physicians, medical oversight, HIPPA compliance, and a host of other regulatory issues need to be addressed. Play fast and loose with these rules and youre asking for trouble. (One of our local competitors in Utah was not providing adequate physician oversight. The state walked in one day, confiscated all of their technology and patient records and closed them down.) All lenders want to know how youre going to handle these issues. ADVERTISEMENT
Financing is easy. Financing smart is hard: Speak the words medical spa as a physician and youre everyones best friend. Banks, lenders, technology companies will all have big smiles on their faces and papers in their hands, ready to lend money or finance everything you need. If youre not a physician its going to be harder.
If you need money or a line of credit for needs other than technology, a bank will probably be your first stop. Banks will provide the best rates but are the most rigorous in investigating borrowers and have the least tolerance for risk. Banks will require that you have spotless credit and that the entire loan is secured. In most cases, everyone who owns 10% or more of the business will be personally responsible for the loan and have to provide two or more years of tax returns. Be prepared for a blizzard of paperwork. Banks will want to see financial statements, cash flow, a business plan (although they dont read it), and have a little visit.
The bank is going to want to know what the funds are intended to be used for. They want to see tangible assets that have a market and can be sold if the business fails or you cant make the payments. They dont want to hear that you need more money for marketing and advertising or salaries that dont have any resale value.
The money that banks will lend you will take the form of a loan, or a line of credit. Loans have a set schedule and payments. A line of credit is somewhat different. The idea is that the bank extends a line of credit that you may draw on. Interest is paid only on the amount of money that is used. However, banks usually require that the entire balance is paid off and unused for one month every year to ensure that the business is liquid. If you cant meet this requirement, the entire line reverts to a loan.
Some bankers are helpful and some are not. In one instance a branch manager told one of our accountants that wanted some information that he didnt need our business and we could just live with that. Avoid these types if you can. A friendly banker can go a long way in securing loans and providing a little flexibility if things dont go exactly as you planned. If you find a great banker, send him a Christmas card and some cookies once in a while.
If you are in the fringe of what a bank can tolerate risk wise, they will often suggest or apply on your behalf for an SBA (Small Business Administration) loan thats partially guaranteed by the government. (www.sba.gov/financing)
Half of something is better than all of nothing: If youre going to need more money than you have in assets, you still have a couple of options. These involve partnerships, joint-ventures, venture loans or equity.
Most start-ups involve some form of equity trade. Partnerships are a good example. Sweat equity in the early stages provides ownership in lieu of payment or salary. Its very common for entrepreneurs to take little or no money, sometimes for years, until the business is on its legs. Sweat equity at this stage usually extends only to the founders but may extend to badly needed partners. When we started Surface, I took more than an 80% reduction in income.

Compare Nursing Homes
Finding the best nursing home is easier than you might think. That is assuming there is more than one nursing home in your area so that you have something to compare. The sad part is that the best nursing home is just the one that meets your expectations better than its competitors. That doesn't mean it is a good nursing home, it might even mean that it just isn't the worst.
A good source of information and feedback on local nursing homes is the attending physician for the residents. The staff at the physician's office works closely with the nursing home staff scheduling appointments and transportation, prescribing medication, and treating ailments as well as serious medical conditions. We found the best nursing home for my grandfather from the recommendation of our cardiologist's nurse.
One of the most valuable tools to compare nursing homes is a nursing home report you can get through Check My Nursing Home.com. This report will tell you about complaints against the nursing home, inspections of the nursing home, abuse and neglect cases, and other valuable feedback that potential residents need to be aware of.
This report is definitely a necessity, but the most valuable tool to compare nursing homes is personal interviews with residents, staff members, and family members. Remember when talking to residents and caregivers that we all compare things based on our own perceptions. For example, my grandfather is getting excellent care and unbelievable attention at his nursing home, but thinks he is being abused and neglected because the food is so bad.
Find out what the employees like and don't like about their working environment and employer. The attitude and contentment of the staff will have a direct affect on the care and attention your loved one will receive. Compare nursing homes based on how good of an environment it is for nurses to work in, and you'll get a clearer picture of how good of an environment it is for residents to live in. Ask questions like, "How often do you have to do someone else's work that is not your job?" You'll learn a lot about how work is managed, but most importantly, you'll get a clearer picture of the attitude of the person you are interviewing. Do they have a resentful attitude or a cooperative one? Do they mind helping outside of their job descriptions, or do they see the staff as a team where everyone works together no matter what the task? These keys will give you a good indication of what is going to happen when your loved one needs help going to the potty when the nurse's aide assigned to their room is busy with another resident.
Always ask specific questions to compare programs and care, such as "Tell me about your physical therapy routine, what exercises you do, and how often?" Asking, "How's physical therapy here?" will only provide you with personal opinion. And even if the therapy is excellentif the resident doesn't like the PT nurse, you're liable to get a negative response. My grandfather hates the resistance bands his physical therapist uses, and really feels stupid sitting there stretching rubber bands. If you asked him what he thought about physical therapy at his nursing home, you are going to get an earful of how it's a useless waste of time. But if you specifically ask him what his physical therapy routine consists of and how often he has physical therapy, you'll get some facts mixed in with the soap box venting.
So to compare nursing homes, visit them personally, ask lots of questions, and interview not only staff, but residents and their families as well. Once you have your choices narrowed down to one or two, order a report on the home to check out what is really happening behind the scenes. And once you've chosen the best nursing home, keep checking on them to make sure the care your loved one receives continues to meet your expectations and their needs.

Feeling Self-Conscious? 6 Tips to Turn it Around Fast!
When you feel self-conscious it means you are putting too much attention on your self, too much focus on what you are doing and how you are doing it. And this is a formula for poor performance.
The secret then to dealing with this problem is to become other conscious.
If all you do is shift your focus from self to others you will communicate better, perform better and become a far better listener.
Another positive consequence is that other people will enjoy spending time with you because it is so obvious you give them your complete attention.
Your goal is to become so fascinated by other people that your focus is on what they say, how they say it and why they say it.
6 Tips for Becoming Other Conscious:
1. Pay attention to the way people breathe, watch closely and observe the relationship between breathing and speaking.
2. Listen not just to what people say but the way they say it. Pay very close attention to speech patterns, changes in tempo, volume and tone.
3. Ask thoughtful questions to understand the way others think. Really strive to grasp why others think what they think.
4. Whenever your focus shifts back to the way you are behaving ask yourself questions about the other person so you need to pay attention to him e.g.
What does he really mean by that?
How does he manage to be so boring?
How does she keep people so entranced with her words?
5. Use your imagination to change your mood and to keep your mind too occupied to be self-conscious.
You could for example imagine that the people you are talking to are wearing no clothes or inappropriate clothes. Why not have some fun, feel good and still enjoy a good conversation?
You owe it to yourself to find as many ways as possible to feel good. As I have said before excellent communication skills are more dependant on your mental and emotional states than on clever language patterns.
6. Use affirmations to condition a new belief about your ability to be relaxed and other conscious. For example:
I am fascinated by the way people talk
I give my complete attention to whoever I talk to
I am an excellent conversationalist
I feel fantastic when I meet new people

Complete Self Acceptance
One of the most important parts of Personal Mastery is Self Acceptance. This is much more than the usual self esteem issues that we hear about, although thats a part of it.
Self Acceptance is about accepting yourself completely, exactly as you are RIGHT NOW. For most of us this isnt as easy as it should be. Weve been taught that we have to achieve certain things or be certain things, and that we shouldnt feel satisfied with who we are until weve done so.
In reality were NEVER finished as there will hopefully always be more to learn and new ways to grow. So when, exactly, are we supposed to feel good about ourselves?
Popular culture would have you believe that all you need to feel good about yourself is the right car, or the right clothes, or the right beer. In fact many of our cultures self-esteem problems are intentionally created by the media and the businesses that advertise there. How often have you seen an ad and thought I really need to update my style, or I really need a new car? Do you really? Hey, maybe sometimes we do. I have to admit that my habit of wearing sweatpants, t-shirts and sandals wouldnt go over well when making advertising sales calls for the videos or magazine, and I do in fact, really need a good car.
As usual the question in our society is how much do we really need? For instance, I dont need Armani suits to sell advertising for a holistic magazine, and I can get by very well with a reliable older car.
The difference here is the word need versus the word want. Were taught that we need certain things to feel good about ourselves, and thats the key issue. I dont care if you buy a new Mercedes 3 times a week if thats what you want to do and you can afford it.
However, if you feel like you need to buy or do anything in order to feel good about yourself then thats an issue that needs to be addressed.
Self Acceptance is about FREEDOM. Its the freedom to be happy with who you are and not be a slave to the needs that were taught to believe in. Its the freedom to look at yourself in the mirror and love and accept the person you see looking back and the freedom to be happy to be in your own skin.
True self acceptance is one of the transformational moments in our lives. It doesnt mean that there arent things youd like to change, or have new directions youd like to grow. It simply means that youve accepted yourself, with all your warts and ugly spots, and now you can start moving in the positive directions needed for your life.
Its also the key to having the freedom to accept others exactly as they are. The most important person that you can love is yourself. Have you ever seen someone who gives up their entire lives to help others, yet destroy their own health and welfare in the process? Everything is connected and One, which means that anything that you can see, feel or imagine is a part of you also, with all the balances apply.
For instance, a person who only takes care of himself, with no regard for others, is no less imbalanced than someone who devotes his entire life to care for others at the expense of himself. The key here, once again, is the word NEED. Its all about the motivation that drives them.
Some of those so intent on self-sacrifice are driven by need. They need to help others to make up for their own inadequacies, or to make up for the bad things they feel that theyve done, or whatever other reasons drive them. Yet if they truly accepted themselves then would they feel the need to sacrifice themselves in order to help others? Wouldnt they see helping others as an extension of helping themselves, rather than as a way to make themselves feel better about who they are?
A balanced person sees helping others as a normal, compassionate thing to do, rather than as something to do to make up for their own lack in some area. Its the Law of Reciprocity again, by helping others we help ourselves, by encouraging others to grow we also grow in the process. By accepting ourselves exactly

Colon Cleansing
There is an old saying that death starts in the intestines. That is why colon cleaning is so important. This is the most important part of your body's filter. There are several products, some natural, some in pill forms such as Colon Cleanse . The suppliments have the advantage of working every time all the time.
Sometimes a fruit or vegetable will have a stronger or weaker effect, depending on the weather, soil conditions, and harvesting practices. It can also be effected by the processing method. For example, oranges are picked green and then sprayed with a gas to make them turn orange. Of course this will effect their health attributes. Genetically enginered foods will also have dramatically altered qualities.
Completing What You HAVEN'T Started
If your life's not quite the way you want it, there might be a surprising hidden factor that's inhibiting your efforts. The problem may not be what you're doing, but the things you leave alone.
You see, your inner mind knows all you do - and DON'T do. The picture that it gives you of who you are and what you can achieve - your self-image - is made up of lots of influences, but two of the most important are the things it sees you doing, and the things you know you SHOULD do... but you don't.
These things are sometimes known as incompletes. They can include all sorts of things, from projects you've begun and never finished and bills you've not yet paid to cluttered desks or bedrooms and all the things you look for good excuses not to start.
Some of them are big, important things and some of them are trivial. Even if they're all very minor, they can snowball into a whole lot of inner criticism.
You can suppress it so your conscious mind won't think about it, but that won't impress your inner mind one bit.
In fact, because your inner mind is so determined that it's going to help you get the things you want, and knows that this is something that you need to do before that's going to happen, blocking the subject from your conscious mind can make your inner mind try all the harder to bring it back to your attention.
What kind of incompletes might cause you difficulties? The list is just as individual as you are. Basically, it comprises anything at all that makes you feel, at any level whatsoever, uncomfortable that you haven't done it yet.
From filing your taxes to washing the car, from changing your career to finding just the right gift for your mother's birthday, every single task you don't control's controlling YOU.
The good news is, to put this right is EASY. Incompletes stop being incomplete as soon as you start taking action on them. The moment you take charge of them you turn them into projects that you're working on.
For example, that neglected patch of ground outside your window is now a garden you're re-shaping, and a debt becomes a managed loan as soon as you start paying by instalments.
As long as you keep taking action that's appropriate, your inner mind will send you signals of approval that transform your self-esteem. The feeling of relief and fresh creative energy this brings you has to be experienced to be believed.
To control all your new projects it's a good idea to use an organizer. It can be paper-based or electronic - even an A4 file with some dividers will do fine.
The important thing's to keep the information in one place where you can review it every week to check your progress. If you don't, your new projects will just drift back to being incompletes again.
For each one, plan the steps you need to take to finish it. You can find lots of no-cost brainstorming and mindmap software through an online search that makes this easy (and a lot of fun!).
Give each step a deadline that you can achieve. For many people, choosing deadlines is the hardest part - you can't always tell how long a step is going to take until you take it.
It helps to break each step down into the very smallest action you can take on it, like making a phone call, getting some more organizer stationery, etc. If you can put a realistic time-scale on your smallest actions, you'll find your target dates have largely set themselves.
You can always change a deadline if you need to, just as long as you're making a real effort to complete the task. If not, it doesn't matter what excuses that you give your conscious mind - your inner mind's not fooled.
Once a week, review your progress. If you need more steps, or see new ways, to get a project finished, or you become aware of new things turning into incompletes, you can adjust your planning to make room for them.
When you've finished you

Stopping Stress
How To Defend Yourself
Do you ever find yourself feeling overwhelmed? Do you sometimes feel like you just have too much to think about? Does it make you tired, irritable, or even depressed? What can you do about it?
People rarely go to the doctor to say "I think I have stress," and yet the National Institutes of Health say that 80% of illnesses are caused by stress, directly or indirectly. Hormones, such as adrenalin, are released into your blood when you're stressed. This causes a rise in blood pressure, a faster heart and breathing rate, and faster conversion of glycogen into glucose. These are good things if you need to escape a charging grizzly bear, but when these effects are prolonged, the immune system is depressed, and your body suffers other negative changes.
Common effects of prolonged stress include fatigue, pain in the muscles and joints, headache, mental confusion, depression, anxiety, and irritability. Stress reactions cause your body to use too much energy, which can result in physical and mental weakness.
Managing Stress With Meditation
Years ago at Stanford University, an analysis of 146 meditation studies was done. The conclusion was that meditation not only was beneficial at the time of practice, but that it significantly reduced anxiety as a character trait. The studies focused on transcendental meditation, but it's probable most methods have similar results. (Reported in the Journal of Clinical Psychology 45: 957974, 1989.)
The bottom line is that stress is a killer, and that meditation really can help you defend yourself. Traditional meditation may have the most beneficial effects, but maybe you're short on time, or uncertain about learning to meditate. In that case, there are two simple techniques you can learn in a few minutes, and start using today.
The first is a breathing meditation. Close your eyes, let the tension drain from your muscles, let go of your thoughts (to the extent possible), and breath deeply through your nose, paying attention to your breath. As thoughts or sensations arise, just acknowledge them and return your attention to your breath as it goes in and out. Do this for five or ten minutes.
To use the second technique, stop whatever you're doing when you feel stressed, and take three deep breaths. Watch yourself until you identify what is bothering you. Are you worried about something? Is there a letter you need to write? Maybe your neck is sore. Note everything you find.
Now deal with these stressors. Write the letter that's on your mind, take an aspirin, put things on tomorrow's list. If the best you can do is recognise there's nothing you can do right now - then do that. With practice, you'll get better at finding what's just below the surface of consciousness, irritating you. After you address these things, close your eyes, take three deep breaths, and you'll feel more relaxed and able to think clearly. Try it now.

Health Issues
Few homeowners understand the health issues associated with dirty windows. Stress causes 80% of today's diseases. A professional Window Cleaning company can do a good job, without using toxic cleaners such as those sold at hardware and grocery stores. The important thing to remember is that not all window cleaning companies are created equal.
Look for a professional company, or franchise, where the company is dedicated to their work. They should be quick, do a good job the first time, and not leave streaks on the window. They should also respect gardens and patio equipment.
Take a look on the web and find out what is 'normal.' Sometimes, working with local or home-based companies, can leave you wondering what is good service in this industry.
The Real Key To Happiness, Peace of Mind, and Massive Succes
Do you know the secret that allowed 100% of the world's wealthiest people to become successful?
Amazingly though, even if you read all their books, attend their speeches, or even ask them in person, you'll probably never discover the one true secret of their success.
Why?
Because they probably don't even know themselves ...
They're too caught up in what they do each day. They may be totally unaware of why almost everything they're involved in becomes a success.
Would you like to know their secret?
Listen closely:
All truly successful people live in alignment with their passions ... they're fulfilling their purpose in life. They're living their own dreams.
The famous theologian William Barclay once said, "There are two great days in a person's life--the day we are born and the day we discover why."
Most people, regardless of religion or lack of religion, instinctively feel that there's a higher purpose to life ... and that if they could determine their mission in life, they'd be much more happy and satisfied.
Once you start to follow your passions and mission in life, the Universe (God or Nature, depending on what you believe) seems to start helping you achieve your goals, often by presenting startling opportunities for you ...
In a recent interview with Chris and Janet Attwood, they revealed a remarkable tool that'll help you quickly determine your purpose in life--The Passion Test.
(Note: To access the Attwood's complete audio interview for free, see end of article)
The simple test, a series of probing questions that you ask yourself, will quickly help you identify your top passions, what's really important in your life.
According to Janet, "The number-one reason people don't get what they want is--is they don't know what they want."
Once you discover your passions and align your life with them, success comes quickly and automatically.
What's more startling, she found that every single highly successful person who's taken the test (Mark Victor Hansen, Jack Canfield, T. Harv Eker, Dan Poynter, to name a few) already are accomplishing their top passions.
Undoubtedly knowing your passions speeds up the path to success.
Most importantly, she also revealed ways to help you realign your life to help you follow those passions.
The one key ingredient in reaching any goal or accomplishment is that you must totally love and enjoy whatever you are wanting to appear in your life.
It has to be your dream, not someone else's.
Do you really want a million dollars or would you rather have someone to love and be loved back?
Do you want that mansion or would you rather travel and not be tied down to any geographical location?
Only you can decide ...
After taking the Passion Test, I was profoundly changed in the way I view my life.
For me, I discovered that my number one passion is gaining dynamic health, my number two passion is improving myself, and three is mastering the guitar.
I realize now that I've put those desires on the back burner while I worked totally on survival goals (you know, making money and dealing with life's obstacles).
With that in mind, it's clear to me that I've missed out on a lot of joys that accomplishments in those areas would have brought me.
So I have a lot of work ahead of me to bring my life back into alignment with my most important passions ...
What about you? You owe it to yourself to discover your passions. It'll help you to become a success in all areas of your life.

Conquer Your Fear
Your belief system is the driving force behind your behaviors and your results. If you can change your beliefs, you will change your behaviors. When you change your behaviors, you will change your results. Then, when you change your results, you will change your life.
It all starts with your belief system. Jesus said, "If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes" (Mark 9:23).
Many things can keep one from believing. But, I think the biggest factor that keeps one from believing is fear and doubt.
Fear and doubt is a common problem from which none of us is immune. They are acquired diseases because we weren't born with them. They are very contagious and are passed around from one person to another. They impair your normal functioning and keep you from making positive and long lasting changes in your life. If you're not careful, fear and doubt will cause you to make weak and irrational decisions that sell out your future for the sake of today. They will steal your peace, your joy, and your very life.
Fear is probably the dominant problem in one's life. 90 percent of the chronic patients who see today's physicians have one common symptom fear.
Many different fears are common to us all to some degree, such as a fear of failure, fear of success, fear of losing one's job, fear of poverty, fear of criticism, fear of illness, fear of rejection, fear of growing old, fear of being separated from loved ones, fear of death, and probably one of the most common fears of all - fear of inadequacy.
Then there are innumerable phobias such as a fear of the dark, fear of high places, fear of closed-in places, fear of insects, and so on.
But, fear is a part of life and a God-given emotion. We rightly fear many things that we should fear. In it's right place, fear is a strong motivator and protecter.
Fear becomes a problem when it is irrational, such as fears that are imagined. 90 percent of the things we imagine through fear never happen. Much of the remaining 10 percent we often make happen ourselves. Like the person who has a fear of failure; he may get himself so anxious about failing, he will actually, somehow, make himself fail.
So, how do we overcome our fears?
~ The first step for resolving any problem is to admit you have the problem. Whatever fear you're experiencing, admit it. It's ok to feel fear but it's not ok to let your fear control you. For those who will admit they have a disease called fear, they are more likely to break through it's control over them.
~ Determine if your fears are imaginary. If so, acknowledge it and refuse to continue to dwell on those fearful thoughts. What the mind dwells on, it magnifies and attracts. It will eventually begin to actually believe that your fearful imaginations are real and act upon them.
~ If your fear is real, accept it and take whatever steps you can to change the circumstances that cause your fear. Keep in mind that courage isn't the absence of fear, it's the ability to press on dispite the presence of fear. Many times, the solution to any fear is simply - do the thing you fear. It's amazing how action conquers fear! Try it.
~ If you are fearing a person, or the 'unknown,' the best thing to do is simply trust God. There is no greater way to overcome these kinds of fears. The Bible says, "Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is kept safe" (Proverbs 29:25). Trust your circumstances to God every day. 1 Peter 5:7 says, "Cast your care on Him for He cares for you."
Remember, your belief system is the driving force behind your behaviors and your results. If your beliefs are fear driven, they will impair your normal functioning and keep you from making positive and long lasting changes in your life.
If you conquer your fears and doubts, you will conquer failure.

Don't Lose Hair Because Of Poor Grooming
One of the most common reasons why men and women lose their hair is due to poor cosmetic grooming. The unfortunate thing about this is the fact it is so preventable. Fortunately there are some steps you can take to put right some of the damage caused.
Speaking at the American Academy of Dermatology's 2004 summer conference, Dr Zoe Draelos offered a number of recommendations to improve the hair care regime:
1. Itching associated with seborrheic dermatitis can weaken and damage hair over a period of time so seek medical help if your scalp skin is itchy, red or scaly.
2. Long hair is more easily damaged. People with extensive hair damage should therefore consider a shorter style.
3. Hair growth slows with age and hair becomes thinner in texture. Older people should therefore ensure that only weaker chemicals are applied.
4. Take care when choosing grooming tools. Use a comb made from flexible plastic with smooth, rounded and coarse teeth. Use a brush with bristles that are smooth, ball-tipped, coarse and bendable. In addition brush as little as possible and avoid brushing wet hair.
5. Don't use tight rubber bands for ponytails as these cause excessive trauma and breaking of hairs. Likewise use hair clips loosely.
6. Understand the nature of your hair and adjust the intensity of your grooming to match. For example, curly hair tends to crack more easily than straight hair so be careful.
7. Make sure the hair is always cut with sharp scissors as crushing the end of the hair will encourage split ends.
8. The less that is done to hair in terms of styling, the healthier it will be. It follows then that care should be taken not to over-style with cosmetic products.
9. Hair coloring and bleaching are damaging to hair. If you must change hair color, try to stay within three shades of the natural color to minimize damage.
10. Hair relaxing and permanent waving are both damaging to hair and should only be used on a very limited basis.

Constipation and Toxicity
Having regular constipation can lead to some serious illnesses. Fecal matter should move through your colon easily and in a given time. When fecal matter remains in your colon for days, your colon becomes toxic and spreads this toxicity into every part of the body. In the bloodstream, these toxins interfere with the deliver of oxygen to the cells and tissues of your body.
If you have to strain and squeeze to have a bowel movement, you can damage the tissues in the lower part of your colon and the blood vessels in your legs.
In the Past
Over 90 years ago and more, doctors knew about the importance of a clean colon. In 1908 Eli Metchnifoff, director of the Pasteur Institute, was awarded the Nobel Prize for Medicine. His research showed that pathogenic colon bacteria, bad bacteria (I will cover this in a later chapter) produced toxic secretions and by products, which acted as slow poisoning of the entire body.
Metchnifoff believed that toxic matter coming from your colon was responsible for every degenerating disease. His belief was so strong that he suggested that mans life span was certainly cut in half when his colon was neglected and allowed to have excessive toxic producing bacteria.
In 1931 Dr. Joseph H. Greer, was telling his patients what to do to end constipation and how to prevent it. Today, nutritionists and other health practitioners are telling their clients the same thing.
In his small book, The Drugless Road to Perfect Health, 1931, Joseph H. Greer, M.D. reminds his patients,
You must have roughage to make the bowels move freely. Concentrated food (processed foods) and constipation go hand in hand, (and) then pills (laxatives) are used. More constipation and more pills, it is a vicious circle with bad results. Dont be afraid of cracked wheat, cornmeal, cut oats, raw cabbage, onions and celery. They are far better than refined flour and the package foods that flood the market. They may save some labor in the kitchen, but they produce constipation.
Today, it is well accepted by nutritionists, Naturopathic doctors, and other alternative medicine practitioners, that constipation is a signal that cannot be ignored and your colon function must be kept efficient and well functioning. To ignore constipation for long periods of time can lead to some serious illnesses. Mostly likely you will not live to be a ripe old age and if you do it will be with some disability.
Constipation is a symptom you cannot ignore even if it occurs only occasionally because it leads to slow poisoning of your entire body.
Many doctors, for a longtime, have refused to believe that constipation can cause other parts of the body to become weaken and become unable to perform their function. You will still find Internet articles, anatomy books, and health books suggesting that for some people bowel movements in 3 days or more can be normal.
You do not have to wait for a disease to take hold of your body so doctors can see you are ill. Take responsibility for your health and dont let constipation become a reoccurring condition.

Constipation remedy using citrus juice
Citrus juices are a constipation remedy that is an excellent way to stimulate your colon and other parts of the body. Since your colon is less active at night, drinking juices as soon as you awaken and get up can stimulate strong peristaltic action and promote a bowel movement.
Lemons
Lemons are filled with minerals, especially potassium, Vitamin C, and bioflavonoids. They have a cleansing action for the entire body.
Fresh lemon juice is the king of fruit juices. It contains citric acid, which acts in the body in a way no other juice does. First it acts on the liver to build up its enzymes so it can detoxify toxins in the blood. Then it combines with calcium to form soluble chemical substances. This makes it effective in removing kidney and pancreatic stones, plack build up along artery walls, and other calcium deposits that occur in the body.
When the liver, gallbladder, and pancreas are not working right, food digestion is affected. This in turn will create constipation.
Use lemons moderately since they break up oils during digestion and in our body they make oils less available to our cells and joints.
If you have lemon allergies or ulcers then you should avoid lemon juice. If you have arthritis lemons are not a good choice.
Heres what to do:
Squeeze one lemon into a glass of warm distilled water. Drink it first thing when you wake up. Dont drink anything else for at least 1/2 hour
You can use a citrus press to juice the lemon or just squeeze it to get the juice out.
Grapefruit Juice
Another constipation remedy you can use is drinking a glass of fresh squeezed grapefruit first thing in the morning. Again wait at least 1/2 hour before you eat anything.
If you are taking any anticonvulsant drugs, birth control pills, estrogen, protease inhibitors and even other types of drugs avoid drinking grapefruit juice. It slows the breakdown of certain drugs allowing them to increase in the blood to dangerous levels.
Grapefruit and Orange Juice
One drink I like in the morning is a combination of grapefruit and orange juice. Just prepare a half and half drink of these citrus fruits and drink it first thing in the morning.

Fitness Outside of a Gym
As society grows more sedentary, people are moving inside to exercise. They are forgetting about the beauty outside, and the joy and exhilaration of being free. There is nothing more freeing than grabbing a couple of a backpacks and setting out toward the nearest trails.
Your backpack may hold a laptop while you hike to the nearest park for some private blogging or chats with friends. Or, it may be a 'fair weather' trip down local trails. No matter where you live, in the mountains, in the city, or in a tourist area, there are places where you can put on a backpack and hike. The extra weight will improve the cardiovascular and muscle building benefits.
Just remember to talk to your doctor first.
The Broken Heart
I once attended a party meant for broken hearts. It was a party that had so much sadness painted all over it. Such was the color of sadness that even a blind person could see it from a distance. The atmosphere of the day was filled with incomprehensible gaze and all I could hear was the sound of silence.A silence so deafening.
Everyone in the party wanted to be left alone in solitude, they acted like their life was utterly intolerable, as if they had no hope of reprieve, like they did not want to anticipate for tomorrow to come.
When I looked around me I saw pieces of hearts scattered here and there, hearts that I knew were whole before, and were used to conjure up thoughts of joy and gladness. Hearts that were used to feel the beauty and wonders of our surroundings.
It was so disheartening for me to discern that some people had cried their eyes out and their tears had formed a pool beside them. A pool that was threatening to drown them.
Heartbreak is an event that is engraved on the memory of a person whose heart has been broken in such a fashion that it keeps on hunting the mind of that person. Day will follow day and the days that will follow may become a nightmare. It is not strange that we feel the hurts and pains that will accompany such days, if we delve into psychology, we will come up with an obvious answer; the heart is a sensitive part of us. But we can overcome and forget if we change the circumstance. We can do this by the imagination of the mind. We can use the mind to harness the joy we once felt and the propensity to the happiness we once shared with tenderness and concern.
Everybody eats dirt in his or her lives. The strong spits it out and survives. We should not allow the mind to become overstressed because of the apprehensions and emotional emptiness we feel. We could make the mind give birth to delusions that may seem completely real. Such delusions could become catalyst that may send the mind over some emotional precipice so that the events of the day also become emotionally magnified and out of place.
Every bird has a song, so will every broken heart find love again. No one should allow the agonies of a broken heart take the chance of loving again away from him or her.
Most people live their lives without finding love. You are still alive; you have found love once, now love will find you. A love more fulfilling than the one you lost.
