Walk Your Way to a Healthy Body

It is no secret that walking is one of the healthiest methods of losing weight and maintaining a healthy body. Any walking that lasts more than ten minutes increases the heart rate offers good aerobic exercise benefits. Any walking that lasts more than twenty minutes, keeping the heart rate elevated, will start burning fat. Every minute a person walks after twenty minutes, they burn fat. If you walk 30 minutes, you burn fat for 10 minutes. If you walk for 60 minutes, you burn fat for 40 of those minutes.

Most people start walking by measuring a distance. Distance is not as important as heart rate and the number of steps you take. That is why fitness companies have developed tools to help you count your steps instead of distance like the pedometer.

This makes it much easier to improve your fitness. Instead of feeling pushed to increase the speed that you walk, just increase the number of steps you take. This will still increase the heart rate without pushing your limits too far. These tools can be used to measure steps on the way to work, walking through a mall while shopping.

Next time you are exercising; do not worry about how far you walk, or how fast you walk. Just count the number of steps you take in 10 minutes, and try to better that number. The Sportline 353 Talking Pedometer with FM Radio will measure your steps, tell you distance, the time, and play your favorite radio station.
