My husband just had the worst problem with our insurance company. Their new quote was $1 400.00. That is $600 more than we paid last year. He called and they 'fixed' the problem. It wasn't until the insurance company sent the paperwork that we found out they hadn't made the changes.
He drove 1.5 hours to the office and sat for more than an hour for his appointment. The clerk pretended she didn't know what the problem was - until my husband informed her that we went online and found three quotes $400 - $800 lower than hers. If she couldn't fix her quote then we would have to change insurance companies.
As it happens they slipped in HGV Insurance from the days when we ran our business. If my husband had not pursued this problem so aggressively, we would have paid for insurance we didn't need.
The online insurance companies can give you a good quote - without needing to know tons of information about you, your past, your credit rating, or your visa number - like our bank asked for.
