Life evolves over time. We are forced into situations that we never dreamed we would live through. I grew up in the country. In a matter of weeks we lost the farm and landed in the city, moving from a large house to an apartment. It was a culture shock.
When we first moved to the city there were no rental companies. I shudder to think of the things the landlord pulled on us. This posts sponsor, Chicago apartments , brought up a lot of old stories. My experience would have been very different if I had a site like this.
I didn't have a website to learn about landlord tenant laws, renter rights, and where to rent. That was our big mistake. We had to pick a place so fast that we ended up in the 'wrong' end of town. That caused its own problems.
My parents are being forced to rent for the first time in their lives. My mom is 70, my dad 75. They are surfing the web, visiting sites like connectedrentals and of course, listening to our horror stories about do-it-yourself renting.
