My husband just had his birthday. Forty-Seven is not a milestone, but he is starting to feel it. He doesn't have the stamina he use to have, of course, he has also had an industrial accident that prevents him from exercising.
My dad is 76 this year. Last year was quite a milestone for him. Everyone and their uncle visited, quite overwhelming my mother. There was a day when my mom's parties were the talk of the town. I still hear people say that her stuffed pork chops have never been topped.
Another story that still resounds on birthdays and Christmas. One Christmas my mother and aunt were making dinner for the family. The men drank - the women didn't. The men went out snowmobiling, so the women decided to 'try' a taste of vodka. Well - you can imagine what happened. The men returned home to a burnt turkey, the women on the floor in the hallway laughing at everything, and a story they would never stop telling.
I thank for sponsoring this blog and giving me a smile as I tell stories from my life. Every year brings more memories and stories. The important thing is to keep on top of your annuities and personal pensions so you can enjoy every minute of life.
