Are You Ever Too Old To Learn?

I had a piano teacher when I was young. She was at least 70 years old when she bought an organ. As a child I was amazed that she would waste her time, being old, learning to play another instrument. I now understand why she gave me a weird look. But, she also gave me some good advice.

"You are never old until you stop learning." I have held on that piece of wisdom all my life. I never stopped learning, which is why I have experienced the success I have.

I plan to enroll in a university and earn an online degree. My son is also interested in learning online. First, it is much cheaper than traditional learning, second, it lets you focus on learning instead of running to classes.

In some countries, a retired person can attend university free - Canada is one country. Learning is the best way to keep the mind active. Graduation does not need to be the only goal. Keeping the mind's cognitive abilities sharp would be my first goal, the degree would be my second.

I am a passionate advocate of continued education. I thank columbiasounthern for choosing to sponsor this post.
