Where to Find Help for Asbestos Victims

The most important thing is to contact the proper authorities immediately. Waiting until the results are in, or the cancer is advanced and the medical bills are pilling, can result in patients making mistakes that cause them to be disqualified. There are many government organizations with the mandate to help victims of asbestos, especially those suffering from Mesthelioma Cancer.

Regional offices of Office of Public Affairs Occupational Safety and Health Administration , OSHA, are listed in the “United States Government” section of telephone directories’ blue pages (under “Department of Labor”).
Regional offices can also be located at http://www.osha-slc.gov/html/RAmap.html

Medical services related to asbestos exposure are available through the Government for eligible individuals. Individuals must pay their own medical expenses unless they are covered by private or Government health insurance. Some individuals may be eligible for Medicare coverage.

Contact the Medicare office serving each state. For the telephone number of the nearest office, call toll-free 1–800–633–4227 (1–800–MEDICARE) or visit http://www.medicare.gov on the Internet.
