75 million American "Baby Boomers" Turning 60

2006 sees the first of 75 million Baby Boomers Turning 60. Most of these people are not ready to be old. They have worked all their life, and now is their time to play. They don't want to feel old - They don't want to look old. The good news is, they don't have to.

If you want to feel good, and enjoy life, this is NOT the time to take it easy. In fact, that is the last thing you should do. Many health problems are linked to a non-active lifestyle where fitness is not a daily concern.

A good diet, exercise, and common sense can keep them looking and feeling young for another decade or two. However, Baby Boomers do not need to hit the gym, or start jogging, to maintain a healthy active lifestyle.

One study shows that Yoga has amazing restorative powers. Yoga works wonders because it (appears to) work from the inside out. It improves the breathing and heart, then starts improving the muscle tone and flexibility. However, seniors should make sure they only exercise under the guidance of someone trained in 'fitness for seniors' types of programs.

Senior fitness is not just a 'pared down' version of regular fitness plans. It must address the needs and concerns of the senior, without causing undo strain on their muscle system.
